Finding Ali in a Village in South Tanzania
I visit Tanzania often and have seen the true need that the children there have firsthand. I specifically want to support children with disabilities in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, where many people struggle for simply their basic needs such as food, clothing, shoes, medical care, and proper housing.
My plan is to conduct private basketball coaching sessions for elementary-aged children either from my indoor half-court at my house or at their driveways for a nominal fee, which will all go towards funding the needs of these children. I will also be creating awareness with local businesses who are willing to match my earnings for a very special cause. I would like to help one child in need at a time in order to make an impactful difference in each of their lives.
Helping Ali Battle Cerebral Palsy
Learn more about 13 year-old orphan Ali from Tanzania:
While I was visiting a hospital in Dar es Salaam that was founded by my grandfather, I sadly met a lady who was dying of cancer. She was very worried about her 13 year old son, Ali, who had cerebral palsy. He is now an orphan, and I was able to locate him in a small village called Lindi.
He was living in a small hut with a relative without a roof, no proper clothing, bedding, food, electricity, no medical care, or a wheelchair. I have sent the funds I raised so far to him to help him get these basic needs taken care of for some time, and I will be visiting him again soon to try to help provide for more of his needs for a longer period of time. Please visit my GoFundMe link in the "Donate" tab and help me make a difference in Ali's life.
I will start with Ali for now and continue finding more children just like him as I raise more funds and awareness.

A Day at the Beach for Ali
During his stay at the hospital, Ali’s care team made sure that his days weren’t just about treatments and recovery—they were about joy and adventure too. On weekends, hospital staff would take him to the beach, where he could feel the sun on his skin, the ocean breeze in his hair, and experience moments of pure happiness.
These outings weren’t just a break from the hospital—they were a reminder that healing is about more than just medicine; it’s about the moments that make life beautiful.
